Part of Lassen Volcanic National Park, "Drakesbad" is a resort that is off the beaten path. It requires driving to Chester, rather than entering the main entrance to Lassen. Well worth the visit, it also has horse rentals and a smaller version of "Bumpass Hell" hot springs. .
